The Dornier Do 17Z-10 represents the specialized night fighter variant of the famous German "Flying Pencil" light bomber. Converted from fast bomber role to night interceptor in the early war years, this high-wing twin was equipped with FuG 202 Lichtenstein search radar and enhanced forward armament to counter RAF night bombers. The Z-10 variant constituted one of the first operational Luftwaffe night fighters before the advent of specialized aircraft.
